Edmund Barton was a Sydney identity and prominent New South Wales Federationist. The Mitchell Library has a collection of his personal papers. The papers of Samuel Griffiths (first Chief Justice of the High Court), David Maughan (Barton’s son-in-law) and Henry Parkes (prominent Federationist and New South Wales Premier) may also be of interest to Barton researchers.
