Description

OM66-04 – James George Drake papers – Box 8613 
A collection of correspondence relating mainly to federal politics. It includes correspondence relating to Drake’s work as Postmaster-General and as Attorney-General, and about a dozen letters from Sir Edmund Barton regarding various political matters. Other correspondents include Sir Alfred Deakin, Lord Hopetoun, Lord Northcote, Judge O’Connor and Sir George Reid. There are also copies of Reid’s memorandum to Lord Northcote (3 July 1905), regarding a proposed dissolution of parliament and of Lord Northcote’s reply (3 July 1905), refusing to dissolve parliament.
